Dr. Robert LaRose

Friday, April 11, 2008, 2 PM, 145D Student Union

Dr. Robert LaRose, Professor, Michigan State University, will be giving a talk titled "Media Habits."

Abstract:  "Everything we think we know about media selection is wrong! Media consumption is guided by automatic, nonconscious processes as much, or even more than, by active and conscious thinking about media alternatives. We explore the neurology and social psychology of media habits and re-visit Uses and Gratifications and media addiction research to find evidence of the influence of habits on media behavior."

Also, the 58th Annual Conference of the International Communication Association will be held in Montral from May 22nd to the 26th.  Additional information about the conference is available here.
