Master of Arts in Communication

The M.A. program is designed to train students for doctoral study in communication processes upon graduation. The curriculum requires students to take coursework in communication theories, social science research methods, and various electives in communication science.

 

Doctor of Philosophy in Communication

The Ph.D. program trains students in the conduct of social science research in human communication theories and processes. As such, students take lectures and seminars in theory development, research methods, advanced statistics, and content areas in communication, including conflict resolution, health communication, organizational communication, mass communication, social media and nonverbal communication. The program is designed to prepare students for post-doctoral work or positions in government or academia.
